About the event
The group is offered for adults who have experienced a loss of a loved one. The group will meet for 8 consecutive weeks for 90-minutes per session, and will be composed of 4-6 participants. Fee per session is $55. This will be an open group, meaning that new participants may be able to join during the 8-week duration. Please complete the registration information and we will email you a more detailed intake form to complete to ensure this group will be a good fit for your stated needs.
Over the course of 8 weeks, the group is designed to help members better understand and navigate the grief process by:
*Allowing participants to share their stories and exchange support and understanding in a safe, validating and non-judgmental environment from others who have experienced a similar loss.
*Providing information around related psychological, emotional, cognitive, physical and interpersonal factors and other unique changes associated with grief and loss.
*Giving participants the opportunity to express their thoughts, feelings and other reactions; identify and express related challenges and needs; and to obtain feedback from others as they come to grips with the transformed reality in which they find themselves.
*Identifying and developing coping skills to help members manage the most difficult times of their grief journey.
*Offer and connect members with grief-related resources to further support their process.
